Bird Market

Yesterday I found the "Bird Market" on the Kowloon side of Hong Kong.  It was a little sad to see all the birds in small cages, but it was fun to take pictures.  People love their birds here, and they were also selling live food, cages and anything you might need to have a pet bird.

Happy Halloween!  I'm wearing orange and black to work today and hope to do some people watching tonight!

STOMP

 I saw "Stomp" last night!  I went alone (I think I was the only person there who was alone) and had a great time.  The show was amazing and impressive!  It had some funny parts and some audience participation parts.  You're not allowed to take photos, so I found some online from this tour.  Plus I had nose-bleed seats, so pictures wouldn't of turned out anyways. 

Holiday Season

 Halloween is tomorrow and YES, it is celebrated here.  Some places have decorations up, the kids have been talking about trick-or-treating and I saw plenty of adults in costume last night.  I also saw these Christmas things for sale today!  I can't wait to see what Christmas is like here....

University of Hong Kong

Today I went on a mission to find the closest Starbucks to my house, which is on the University of Hong Kong campus.  I was much more successful this time at navigating the campus and even found the (free) art gallery which had a good collection of modern photography and historical collections.  Today was some event for potential new students to check out the campus, so it was crowded, but now I know how to get to the closest Starbucks!

First Field Trip!

As you can tell from the pictures, our first field trip was a major success!  The boys had a great time finding sea creatures and playing in the sand.  We went to a beach that is minutes from their house, yet the boys weren't sure if they've been there or not.  It was good to get them outside and to apply what they've been learning.  They were great sports and we're already brainstorming future field trips!

It was one of those days at work that called for a beer afterwards and a walk around Stanley.  Tomorrow is Friday and it is very much needed.  Tomorrow is also our first class field trip to the beach to look for life in the tide pools (more on that tomorrow)!

Another TV show

I just finished the first season the the US's version of Shameless and thought it was good.  I'm flying through these TV shows!

tuesday

I like tuesdays.  The flow in the classroom works best on tuesdays and we get a lot done.  This evening a post man delivered a package to me from Adam filled with goodies. It was a good day.

Victoria Park
