February had some bright spots (and sunny days). The highlight was spending Valentine's Day in Seattle being tourists: new aquarium and Pike Place Market! We also watched a lot of Winter Olympics and got some project done around the yard!

Backpacking with the kids!
For memorial day weekend, Jack and Wyatt came up from Portland and the 6 of us took the kids backpacking (a first for our kids). We did Duckabush- about 2 1/2 miles in and had a beautiful spot on the river and the BEST weather. Isla was not sold on the carrying of a heavy backpack, so we'll have to re-think that next time- but Avi was fully in his element! I just had the best time ever and can't believe we waited so long to get back to backpacking! Scheming the next trip....
