Costa Rica: bugs, birds and monkeys

We saw howler monkeys about every other day at the villa (right behind our room so we could see them from our window) in Costa Rica!  We also saw lots of cool birds, although they were harder to get pictures of and lots of BIG bugs.  3 people (out of 30) were bit by a scorpion on our trip- they were all OK, no need for the hospital just benedryl and ice, but I feel pretty lucky I didn't get bit!

 Had a great time getting to know Adam's family better in Costa Rica!  The villa had so many nice places to sit and hang out.  We played a few rounds of scrabble with Mickey and I even beat her one time (a highlight of the trip!)

Costa Rica: Tierra Magnifica

We just spent a week in Costa Rica for Adam's family reunion at this AMAZING villa called Tierra Magnifica . 

 We had a wonderful time enjoying the views, warm weather, beach, swimming in the pool, spending time with family and eating amazing food (the kitchen staff prepared all our meals).  The villa was fully staffed so it was sort of like a hotel experience but also felt like we were renting a big house- 9 bedrooms.  We had over 30 people (5 kids) and actually had to rent another house up the street.  It was just the type of vacation I needed (and could handle) for being 32 weeks pregnant.  I barely left the property even though the rest of the family enjoyed excursions such as horseback riding, zip lining, kayaking, fishing, etc.  I took a lot of naps, read books and treated myself to a massage!  More picture to come!
