The Boat House Cabin

So we had this outbuilding that was sort of falling apart (1 of the 3 outbuildings that came with the property) that we called the "boat house" because it probably housed a boat or an RV or a tractor or something.  We always thought it would be fun to fix it up, but it wasn't a priority.  Long story short, one of Adam's friends thought maybe he wanted to live in it and spent a month or so fixing it up, only to change his mind.  So now we have the beginnings of a very cute guest house/art studio/tiny house/cabin.  Adam closed in the walls and is hoping to spend some more time on it this spring.  We have wood-stove for it that needs to be installed but for now it's freezing.  However, it has very pretty views of the woods and the creek and we're excited to do something fun with it.  Just wanted to share some pictures of where it's at so far:

Isla Lately...

Isla turned 20 months yesterday!  I can't believe 2 is right around the corner!  She's doing great- has a cold right now (who doesn't?) and we're having some sleep issues/trying to wean her off bottles of warm water to fall asleep and in the middle of the night.  She has quite the vocabulary and every day says something we didn't know she knew how to say or what it was called.  Things we're not even teaching her or remember saying/labeling.  It's honestly amazing, especially given the work I do!  She has quite the strong will and is not a fan of hearing "no".  Keeping us very busy!

We'll work on weaning off binkis next!

Rosemary's Birthday Party

We had a great time at Rosemary's balloon-themed 3rd birthday party on Saturday!!!

Room Project

When I took the week off between Christmas and New Years, Adam spent 4 solid days tearing down wall paper and re-painting our bedroom.  Something we've been wanting to do for the past 3 years!  It looks great and Adam did a great job!  We still want to do some finishing touches in the bedroom- maybe some new art for the walls and a headboard, but this is the progress so far!

Happy New Years 2017!

We had a good new years this year.  The day before new years eve we did fondue (a family tradition) at my parent's house.  Then they babysat on New Years Eve so we went to Callie's for a little party!  We did an early count-down for the kids (7pm) and the adults rallied until 10pm!  (Then I went home and fell asleep).  New years with kids is a whole different holiday, but it was still fun.  This year I am resolving to 1) try 12 new dinner recipes and 2) embrace the google drive for work (I've been so resistant, but it is time...)
