Back from Beijing!

I had a GREAT time in Beijing but I have to say, I am so happy to be back in Hong Kong!  They are very different cities and I definitely prefer Hong Kong to live in.
I had perfect weather while I was there- and the Magnolia and Cherry Trees were in bloom.  I also had great visibility at The Great Wall (I had heard smog can be a problem).
I met lots of other travels at the hostel and did more socializing in the past 6 days than I've done in 7 months in Hong Kong!  In fact I met 5 other teachers from Hong Kong (all British) who were traveling because we all had the same vacation dates.  All in all, it was a really great trip and it renewed my belief in good traveling karma!
Its a bit of a miracle I wasn't  hit by a bike or a bus while in Beijing- the traffic is unruly there.  People are friendlier but also more aggressive towards tourists.  It is also really dry in Beijing-  apparently they get sand storms from time to time.  It's really flat and everyone rides bikes and it was fairly easy to get around on the subway.
I have about 600 pictures to sort through and post, so I'll start working on that tomorrow.  For now I just picked some of my favorites.  More to come....
