Sushi's all grown up!

She's an indoor/outdoor kitty now.  We let her own (without the leash) on Sunday and she seems so much happier!  She hasn't gone very far- usually stays right where we can see her, but she is loving sniffing around the yard.  She loves her spot under the BBQ where she can watch the birds on the feeder- she hasn't even attempted to go after any yet, but we have a bell to put on when that becomes a problem.

A good weekend

All in all it was a great weekend in Portland.  We stayed the night at the Edgefield- and coincidentally Jack and Maggie also had planned on staying there- for a Valentine's Day thing (it was super busy with couples having the same idea).
The weather was decent and we also got to see a lot of the city!

Shopping our way through Portland

Adam wanted to take this chair home... but no truck and no $250

Oh Portland!  What fun shopping you have.  We did some of our favorites: Powell's books (although everyone ditched be after about 5 minutes) and Deek and Brian's next adventure (used and new camping/outdoor gear), Portland Nursery and a new favorite- vintage shop where different venders gather "junk" and sell it collectively in a big store.  We brought home the green suitcase, details on that project to follow....

Eating our way through Portland

Sushi land!

The waffle window

voo doo doughnuts, which had a ridiculous line so we didn't go inside

Portland has amazing food and we ate a lot of it this weekend!  Although we still haven't really done the food carts, we went to this place called "Ocean" which is a similar idea.  Five restraunts opened up mini-restraunts in a row where you can get bites of their food (or larger portions if you want too).  We tried to try all 4, but Adam and I burned out after 3....  Korean chicken wings, tacos, meatballs and burgers (and a pie place).
Overall it was a great weekend of eating, shopping and relaxing!

Happy Valentine's Day

I came home late tonight from work to raspberry chocolate coffee cake, a new necklace, flowers, ice cream and wine.
Life is good!
And Sushi got her stitches out today so she's  happy cat (no more cone or sock).
Looking forward to spending this weekend in Portland- we're staying the night at the Edgefield... can't wait to soak in the pools!

Sock Kitty

So Sushi HATED the cone and I had the idea this weekend of making a sock outfit for her that covered up the stitches.  She is so much happier and back to her playful self with her sock outfit.  Kinda stylish too :)

Welcome to the World Finn!

Callie and Nuri's beautiful baby boy, Finnegan Lee Mathieu, was born last night.  They are at a hospital about 5 minutes from my house so I went to visit this morning.  The birth didn't go exactly as planned but he and Callie are doing well and he's perfect!

Visiting the Hands On Children's Musuem

I took my ex-client (the girl I used to work with) to the brand new Children's Museum in Olympia.  The building is beautiful and huge so of course I wanted a chance to see inside and that meant borrowing a kiddo for the afternoon.   She had a great time and there was so much to do there!  We didn't even see the whole place or take part of any of the many activities they had set up for kids to do.  It's great the Olympia now has such a nice indoor place for kids (although it was also super crowded).

Sushi gets spayed...

The night before surgery

Cone head
Poor Sushi!  She was spayed Monday morning and she had to fast the night before and now she has to wear a cone so she doesn't lick her stitches.  She also had to stay overnight at the vet.  We've been taking the cone off when we're home and able to watch her the whole time to make sure she isn't licking, but it has to go on when we can't watch her :(  The stitches will come out on Valentine's Day- 1 more week to go!
