New Roof!!!
When we bought this house, we knew we'd need to put a new roof over the carport/kitchen/bedroom area. We tried to haggle the price with the sellers based on a bid we got from a roofer, but they wouldn't budge. A year later and we saved up enough money to tackle this enormous (enormously expensive) project. And it got done on Monday! It's a huge relief, we even had water dripping through the ceiling over Thanksgiving, so it couldn't wait much longer. Since the roof has a valley in the carport, that needed to be fixed (they built a "cricket" to help water drain) and fixed a whole bunch of rotten plywood and a rotten beam. We also got new skylights and vents. Phew... home ownership is expensive!
Happy Birthday Adam!
Adam turned 32 yesterday! He had to work, but we celebrated by going out for sushi. I also made a key lime pie (delicious and easy!) and, as is tradition for Adam's birthday, had to watch a movie of his choice (How to train your dragon 2). Happy Birthday Adam!
Sunday.
Visiting Portland
Adam and I went down to Portland for the weekend last weekend with Ezra. Friday was sunny but the rest of the weekend rained the whole time, but we even took some rainy walks around the neighborhood Hannah and Seth are now living in- Multnomah Village, which is super cute and easy to walk to a bunch of places. Ezra enjoyed the local dog park and pet store! Sadie thought Ezra was pretty amusing. We had an awesome lunch at Boke Bowl.

Witch Hazel!
This witch hazel was my first big plant purchase for the new yard and it is clearly happy and healthy. I love this plant because it blooms in late winter and puts out such a beautiful color orange. It's been so warm lately, lots of bulbs are starting to sprout! I can feel spring coming!
New Mailbox
Not the most exciting news, but Adam installed a new fancy locking mailbox last weekend. (On the right) After a year of getting wet, soggy mail and having the mail carrier NOT pick up our outgoing mail because the flag wouldn't stand up, we're pretty happy!
Old House Photos
These 2 old house photos came with the house when we bought it. I finally got around to scanning them, since they are fading. It's neat to see how it's changed.
Ezra turns 1!
Ezra and Rosemary share a birthday, so Saturday was Ezra's birthday too. She had a great play date with Neko and a make-shift "cake" for dinner. She gave us quite a scare earlier in the week when she got on the counter and ate (very quickly and quietly) a chicken thigh on the bone and a breast piece. After a day and half of her not wanting to eat and acting a bit sick (and throwing up) we took her to the vet for X-rays- luckily no bones were stuck, just an upset tummy. She's feeling better now!
Rosemary Turns 1!
Saturday was Rosemary's birthday and Laurel threw a party at the Harbor House downtown (great building!) She was adorable and stayed happy the whole party! (Although she wasn't so sure about the cake part-)
