Saturday Shopping

Angela told me about another park right by our apartments, so I checked that out this morning. It's across the street from a gigantic public swimming pool that we're hoping we can get into. I really got into the culture of Hong Kong today and spent my whole saturday shopping... There are SO many malls here and it seems to be how people prefer to spend their time. My mission was to track down the familiar today, IKEA and H&M, which was successful. Then I went to a movie (in a mall, of course). There's assigned seating at the movies here and the seats are really, really nice. Saw "Midnight in Paris" (Woody Allen) which came out a while ago in the states- Hong Kong gets American movies a little late (Bridesmaids is also playing right now- might have to give that a re-watch). Tomorrow I think I'll venture across the water to the Kowloon side of Hong Kong- there's an underwater subway- but you can also take a boat, bus or taxi. I went to that side to see the light show, but haven't seen it in the day yet.

  1. Did you buy anything? Are the snakes poisonous? Everything looks so nice.

  2. I got some clothes and a few things for the apartment. Funny how I just spent the summer buying stuff for our house in Olympia, and now I'm doing that all over again (rugs, clocks, dish towels, etc). It's coming together. Yes, there are poisonous snakes here. Hopefully I won't ever see one.
