Fun Friday

The kids get to have "fun Friday" every Friday- which they get SO excited about. It's our chance to teach a little art, culture, science or anything that isn't fluency-based. Today we made Chinese lanterns in honor of the coming holiday on the 12th- Mid-Autumn Festival or the Moon Day festival. Apparently this holiday is a day to eat a lot of "moon cakes" (mini-cakes with a filling that is circular- such as an egg yolk) with your family and the next day is a holiday that we will have off from school. Angela and I decided we're going to use that day as an in-service because we already have so much to do and organize! I'm hoping to find some moon-cakes to try this weekend.

  1. It's kind of weird to get up early in the morning, make my tea and then read that your day is already over while mine is just starting. All the photos today are great, as usual. About the rain, do people carry umbrellas?

  2. People love their umbrellas here. I brought one, but there were 4 left in the apartment. I think sometimes you get caught in the rain off guard and have to buy one so you probably end up with extras. I'm leaving one in my purse.
