We finally have an up and running hot tub and we are getting tons of use out of it! What a project it was. We first ordered it in June after our weekend getaway to a vrbo with a hot tub where we realized that hot tubing was half the reason for booking weekend getaways! We ordered it online and it was delivered to our house! Then the hard work came of digging a trench to run wires underground to the basement for the electric hook up (didn't get a picture of that), then our friend helped get the electric up and running, then Adam and a couple of his friends helped with the mixing and pouring of concrete, and the moving of the actual tub (it's only about 250 pounds, so you can move it pretty easily) and getting it filled, adding chemicals and then it was up and running. We have been in it almost every night and it's wonderful. Especially late at night hearing owls and coyotes! It is certainly life changing and worth the time, money and effort.
Tub and bags of concrete (both delivered to our yard) |
Gravel we got delievered for under the concrete and then also for the driveway/walk ways |
We've been working on landscaping with shade plants around the tub |
What a fantastic blog post! It sure looks like a lot of work went into the foundations. For you to hear coyotes and owls outside your house, must be an amazing feeling. The finished job looks extremely neat. You have made me want to start a hot tub project of my own. Enjoy your tub!
