Goodbye Poodles in Paris

Adam worked his butt off on this project!  We are finally rid of the hideous "poodles in paris" wallpaper in the guestroom/my office and now we have a nice, warm yellow!  Now we are ready for some guests!

A beautiful Fall Weekend...

We had a great weekend- I took some pictures at the Farmer's Market on Saturday after going out to brunch at Mercato (yummy). We celebrated Laurel's birthday by having a small gathering at our house on Friday- Sean and Ruby stayed with us.  We also were dog-sitting, Sham, Jonah's dog for the weekend- who is very old but very sweet.  We tried to keep Ezra from bugging him too much.  Adam worked on the wall paper project all weekend (more on that later).  I did some  yard work and braved our creepy shop attic to sort through the boxes up there (all empty- no "treasures") until I heard something moving around and got too freaked out to stay up there (likely a squirrel is living up there).

Laurel's new birthday hair color and flowers from the market!

Puppies and Flowers

OMG! Jenny and John just got a 8 week old husky puppy and she is so cute (named Neko).  Jenny brought her over last night for a little play date with Ezra which was adorable.  Callie and Finn came over too- Finn was excited to see the chickens and the puppies!
It was a rough weekend- Adam and I both caught colds and are in recovery.  We are coping with some major health problems for Adam right now and getting sick didn't help.  It was a good weekend to lay low.

We're pretty excited that our dahlias are finally blooming.  I bought bulbs from the farm that did my wedding flowers, so these should look familiar!   So much color!

First Anniversary Trip: Orcas Island

made a cake from our wedding
Adam and I went camping last weekend on Orcas to celebrate our first anniversary. We had a great time and so did Ezra!  Orcas Island is beautiful and the weather couldn't have been better.  The ferries make it tricky but apparently they are adding reservations this January- so next summer will be better (we arrived on Friday at 2:15 to catch the 4:00 ferry- but were not early enough and had to wait until 7:20 at the ferry terminal).... Other than that- we did some nice hikes with amazing views, went swimming and relaxed at Moran State Park.

view from our campsite- we had to set up in the dark, so we had no idea we were so close to the lake  until the next morning
