May! Hannah and Toby came down for the weekend and Callie, Hannah and I participated in the 5-mile Olympia race (I walked, then ran). Then we enjoyed a beach day at Burfoot/Boston Harbor. Also, Avi had a 1st grade school concert (cute). Isla got a vaccine (immediate trip to ice cream afterwards), Avi and I fed baby animals at the farm and we got a walk in at one of favorite places (Evergreen beach)
For memorial day weekend, Jack and Wyatt came up from Portland and the 6 of us took the kids backpacking (a first for our kids). We did Duckabush- about 2 1/2 miles in and had a beautiful spot on the river and the BEST weather. Isla was not sold on the carrying of a heavy backpack, so we'll have to re-think that next time- but Avi was fully in his element! I just had the best time ever and can't believe we waited so long to get back to backpacking! Scheming the next trip....
