Sock Kitty

So Sushi HATED the cone and I had the idea this weekend of making a sock outfit for her that covered up the stitches.  She is so much happier and back to her playful self with her sock outfit.  Kinda stylish too :)

Welcome to the World Finn!

Callie and Nuri's beautiful baby boy, Finnegan Lee Mathieu, was born last night.  They are at a hospital about 5 minutes from my house so I went to visit this morning.  The birth didn't go exactly as planned but he and Callie are doing well and he's perfect!

Visiting the Hands On Children's Musuem

I took my ex-client (the girl I used to work with) to the brand new Children's Museum in Olympia.  The building is beautiful and huge so of course I wanted a chance to see inside and that meant borrowing a kiddo for the afternoon.   She had a great time and there was so much to do there!  We didn't even see the whole place or take part of any of the many activities they had set up for kids to do.  It's great the Olympia now has such a nice indoor place for kids (although it was also super crowded).

Sushi gets spayed...

The night before surgery

Cone head
Poor Sushi!  She was spayed Monday morning and she had to fast the night before and now she has to wear a cone so she doesn't lick her stitches.  She also had to stay overnight at the vet.  We've been taking the cone off when we're home and able to watch her the whole time to make sure she isn't licking, but it has to go on when we can't watch her :(  The stitches will come out on Valentine's Day- 1 more week to go!

Cirque du Soleil

Adam was so excited about finding musubi (which was all over in Hawaii)

My fortune cookie had 2 fortunes, but I didn't realize it until I had already eaten half of one of them....

Had a great time last night in Seattle with Sarah and Greg!  We all went to the International District for a little shopping at Uwajimaya and then out for Chinese food.  Then off to Marymoor park for Cirque du Soleil (which was AMAZING).  Overall I think Adam had a good birthday.
Today is the Superbowl and since we really have no means of watching it, we are thinking about beating the crowds and going to Costco for some preliminary price checking for our wedding.... We also have a bunch of yummy Asian food treats to eat today- wishing we had an Uwajimaya in Olympia!

Saturday Social Group

Here is a glimpse into how I spent my Saturday morning at the center where I work.  We have Saturday Social groups every Saturday and I usually work 1 or 2 of them.  Yesterday's theme was football and it was hilarious because most of us women working didn't know a thing about football, but we were able to wing it.  The kiddos broke into teams and competed with each other by earning points for saying nice things to each other.  My kiddo I was with was a champ.  It went a little like this kid:"what's that thing?" me:"a scarf" kid:"I like your scarf, is that a point?" (he's pretty competitive, and yes, our team won).

Friday Night

not the best lighting, but I tried...

We went out to the Lemon Grass last night with Callie, Nuri, Jenny and John.  Callie is due in a week from Monday!!!!!  She seems pretty ready to be done being pregnant.  We also went to the new(ish) ice cream shop downtown and had some yummy dessert.   Spent the evening talking about babies, weddings and turning 30 (Adam)!  Oh growing up :)
