Babies, babies, babies

Little Sadie just loves visiting Beth and Adam's!  She did great on her second over night- even slept through the fireworks in the yard.  She had her first "play date" with Rosemary on Saturday. They even held hands!  SO cute.

Ezra and Sailor had a play date too

a walk on the trail puts Sadie in the zone

4th of July Party

Had a great 4th of July Party!  Good Food, good friends and some fireworks too.  It was nice to have an outdoor party at this house (first time), even though the weather did it's traditional Pacific Northwest 4th of July thing and sprinkled a little.   My mom came down to hang out with Sadie for the afternoon too.  Sadie amazingly slept through the fireworks.

Sadie thinks her 4th of July dress is pretty interesting!

thank you neighbors for the awesome firework show

Finished the Laurel Removal- Re-planting Garden Bed Project

What a project!  I decided I didn't like this giant bed of laurel bushes (which were probably 20+ years old) so I decided to dig them out to make room for a new garden bed.  I sort of underestimated how much work digging big roots are by hand and it took weeks (I could only do 1 or 2 a day and there were 10 of them).  However, I finished and Hannah helped me place plants (the plants I had already).  The bed still needs some more plants but it's a good start and I think it looks way better and more interesting than a full bed of boring laurel bushes.

The fence is finished!!!

Adam finished the 2nd gate last weekend (I helped a bit) and now our fence is officially done!  The chickens have a lot more space to roam and Ezra can run all over playing fetch and we don't have to worry about her getting too close to the road.  This fence makes a HUGE difference in our lives and I am so happy Adam and Jonah got it done.
