Hiking up Pleasant Mountain

The house Adam's mom grew up in

Adam's mom and I hiked up Pleasant Mountain- near her childhood home.  It was a beautiful day and the view was great!

Lobster Bake for Temma's Birthday!

Peak's Island Lobster Shack

Lobster was super cheap this summer (as low as $3 a pound!) so we ate a bunch of lobster when we first arrived.  I'm so so so happy that my shellfish allergy disappeared, because this was the first time I've been able to actually eat lobster in Maine!  We had a lobster bake on the back shore of Peaks for Adam's sister's birthday which was a lot of fun.  I didn't truly understand the benefits of cooking and eating whole lobsters outside on the beach until I found myself actually tearing apart a lobster (which is pretty messy- and delicious!).

Peaks Island

Adam's mom and a friend started this adorable gift shop on the island

there are tons of golf carts (of all shapes and sizes) on the island

I really love Peaks Island- although the ferry schedule drives me insane!  The ferry comes every hour except for when they take their lunch break and their dinner breaks (around noon and 5pm) in which case you have to wait 2 hours!  You always have to be thinking about the ferry schedule and planning ahead if you don't want to get stuck!

Home from Maine!

We got in yesterday afternoon and caught a beautiful view of Mt. Rainer as we landed!  Had a wonderful trip but it always feels good to be home.  What nice weather we are having in Olympia!  I'm going to an orientation for my new job tomorrow afternoon and hopefully starting Friday or next week.

John and Erin's wedding

What a beautiful and yummy wedding!  We are so lucky to have been able to go to John and Erin's wedding while we are in Maine.  It was a small wedding (35 people) at this great restaurant/venue in an old mill in Brunswick.  Erin made all of the decorations and it looked fabulous!   We sat across from a really nice couple who actually made all the pies for the dessert (which were awesome: apple, lemon meringue and chocolate) and who are getting married in a month.  A wonderful evening!
