Construction and Reclaimed Land
I've never seen so much construction in my life. Hong Kongers are obsessed with making things "new" and "modern" and are constantly remodeling and rebuilding things. There is a constant ringing of jack hammers always in the background here. Thankfully, my building isn't doing construction, but Angela's is and she hears jackhammers all day long on the weekends (so much for sleeping in). Also, a lot of Hong Kong is "re-claimed land" meaning, it was ocean and they just built on top of it. This temple (above picture) used to be on the beach- now it is in the middle of down town. Below shows a picture of reclaimed land in Hong Kong.
